Highlights
Cambodia is truly “A World of Treasures”. The Kingdom of Cambodia has undergone testing times in the past but fortunately for the tourists, most of her wonders have survived and being rich as it is in history, arts, architecture and culture, there is always somewhere and something to cater to your fancy. The magnificent Angkor Wat in Siem Reap needs NO introduction of course but Cambodia is not just about temples and ruins. This is an amazing country with infinite grace and nature beauty. It has some of Asia’s most exciting and original adventures yet to be explored!
Bakheng Hill is located 1,300 meters (4,265 feet) north of Angkor Wat and 400 meters (1,312 feet) south of Angkor Thom. During sunset, this place is crowded with locals & visitors alike. To get a breathtaking glimpse of the sunset on the hilltop, one has to trek about 40 minutes along a steep path, on the east side of the monument. Although it may be quite tedious, Bakheng Hill is swamped with tourist due to its spectacular view!
Phnom Penh City has a strong element of the Cambodia’s fine Khmer and French influences. During the French colonial days, the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh was a bustling city. The French influence can be seen on the many colonial buildings and villas. Today, this city tour will bring you to the Silver Pagoda and National Museum and also a visit to the Tuol Sleng Museum; which is a testament to Cambodia’s recent bloody past under Pol Pot’s Khmer Rouge regime.
