Opened in 1963, the National Zoo is one of the country’s oldest recreational institutions. There are 200 species of animals, birds and reptiles while the aquarium has 80 species of marine and fresh water life. Next proceed to Royal Selangor factory where upon arrival you will be taken for a tour of the pewter gallery then get a chance to make your personalized pewter dish based on your name/initials that you engrave.

The Royal Selangor Pewter – which was founded by Yong Koon (an enterprising Chinaman in 1885, is famous for its beautiful pewter products made of tin, copper and antimony. Yong Koon’s dedication and commitment to excellence ensured the growing popularity of his pewter designs. In conjunction with its centenary in 1985, the artisans at Royal Selangor marked the occasion with an extraordinary feat – the production of the world’s largest tankard.A fitting tribute to the vision of its founder, the tankard at 6.5 feet high and with a capacity of 4920 pints, was inaugurated into the Guinness Book of Records. Today, visitors to the world’s largest pewter factory can truly say they stood next to a Giant!

Batu Caves – a huge limestone outcrop housing an elaborate Hindu temple. The caves are a popular place of worship for Hindus and each year, during their auspicious celebration of Thaipusam, hundreds of thousands of Hindus throng the temple. For those who are adventurous, one may climb 272 steps to lead you to a magnificent site
