Historical Siem Reap, Angkor Wat, Temples, Tonle Sap Lake, Banteay Srei, Phnom Penh City, Royal Palace, National Museum Tour (Cambodia Tour Packages)

The Tonle Sap Lake (otherwise known as the Great Lake) is a combined lake and river system in Cambodia. It is the largest fresh water lake in Southeast Asia and the richest fishing lake in the World. The Tonle Sap is a unique ecological hotspot. Its flow changes direction twice per year, and the lake itself expands and shrinks by four times its size with the changing seasons. In the dry season, the v Sap drains into the Mekong River at Phnom Penh. And when the monsoon rains begin in June, the Tonle Sap grows tremendously. With this, it provides a perfect breeding ground for the fishes and birds, and is one of the many reasons why the Tonle Sap Lake has been designated a UNESCO Biosphere. Indeed, The Tonle Sap Lake is a natural wonder!    This elegant temple of Banteay Srei was built by a Brahman in the 10th Century, specially dedicated to Shiva. The famous pink sandstone structure bears a series of beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. It is also believed that the sculptures were carved by women as the details were too fine for the hands of a man. This also contributes to the origin of the Khmer name, Fortress of the Women

During the French colonial days,  the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh was a bustling city. The French influence can be seen on the many colonial buildings and villas. Today Phnom Pehn City Tour will take you to the remnants of Cambodia's past, visiting the grandeur of the Royal Palace and National Museum
