Kuching, the capital of Sarawak, is a riverside town in the west of the state, located on the banks of the Sarawak River. It is approximately 32 km inland from the South China Sea. The town has landscaped parks and gardens, some elegant colonial buildings, colourful markets and a bustling waterfront.
Sarawak Cultural Village - Called the 'Living Museum', the Cultural Village was set up to preserve Sarawak's cultural heritage. Located at Pantai Damai, Santubong, it is the perfect place to get introduced to local cultures and lifestyles. Sprawled over 17 acres, there are about 150 people living in the village, demonstrating traditional daily activities like the processing of sago, and the making of handicrafts. They wear traditional costumes and also put on dances for visitors.
Visitors can see replicas of buildings that represent every major ethnic group in Sarawak: longhouses of the Iban, Bidayuh and Orang Ulu, a Melanau tall-house, a Chinese farm house and other attractions. The village residents provide information on their traditional cultures and lifestyles. This package includes:

Meet up at hotel lobby and depart for Half-Day Sarawak Cultural Village Tour .Known as the “Living Museum”, Sarawak Cultural Village offers an opportunity to admire the richly diverse multi-racial cultures of Sarawak .The major indigenous tribes include the Iban,Bidayuh, Melanau,Orang Ulu , and Penan who live in their individual longhouse or huts displaying their unique cultural and traditions. Presentations of traditional welcoming gestures at each home and the demonstrations of the art of making handicrafts are absolutely wonderful .The tour concludes with the extremely fascinating cultural performance at the air-conditioned. After that transfer to Damai Beach for Relax until 3pm transfer back to Hotel. |
