Sandakan SafariThe Sepilok Orang-utan Rehabilitation Centre is situated inside a 40 sq km reserve and is a permanent sanctuary for the orang-utan (literally ‘wild man of the jungle’) that have been orphaned, injured or confiscated. There is a feeding platform for visitors to observe these beautiful primates and two daily feedings before they wander back into the forest.
River Safari CruiseThe Kinabatangan Wildlife Sanctuary is one of two known places in the world inhabited by ten species of primates, four of which are endemic to Borneo. It is also one of two places in the world where four colonies of primates inhabit the same place, namely the proboscis monkey, silvered langur, maroon langur and Hose’s or grey langur. It has the highest concentration of proboscis monkeys and orang-utans in Malaysia. Thus, come on down & enjoy the river cruise while being thrilled by our lovely orang utans & hornbills!
Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge ( Sukau ) is one of the lodge that has been set up in 1994. The new wing with 33 rooms (15 Twin Room / 6 Triple Rooms / 8 Double Bed Rooms / 4 Family Rooms ) was completed on NOV 2007 with Jetty Tower, New Bird Tower, New Frog Platform and a open sun deck facing to the Kinabatangan River. Our rooms are upgraded with 42 inch width beds and 8 inches mattresses. ( All rooms with equipped with Attached Bathroom/ Hot Shower/Ceiling Fan/ Windows fully covered with Mosquito Net/ Smoke Detector / Emergency Evacuation Plan )

Itinerary

Meet at Sandakan airport via MH 2042(ETA 0810hrs) or AK 5822(ETA 0800hrs) or lobby Hotel in Sandakan(0900hrs), depart overland to Gomantong Birdnest Caves. Upon arrival, 15 minutes walk on the plank walk to the cave. Explore the largest bird's nest cave in Sabah, home to millions of Bats and swiflets. The nest of the swiflets are collected for the famous Chinese edible bird nest soup. Continue journey to Sukau which will passing by Oil Palm Plantations and villages. Check in Kinabatangan Riverside Lodge and lunch will be provided. Late in the afternoon, take a boat cruise to the famous of Menanggul River in search for Proboscis Monkeys, different species of birds and others wildlife. Return Lodge for dinner. Video Show |

After breakfast, 0700 depart overland to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Center. At this center, observe “the Orang Utan” and experience a walk in the Tropical Lowland Dipterocarp Forest of Borneo. 1000hrs witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at the feeding platform. Depart centre return to Sandakan drive up hill to the Puh Jih Syh Chinese Buddhist Temple, which offers a panoramic view of the Sandakan Bay before lunch at local restaurant or hotel.
